Joining ‘Reception’ in September 2027

Thank you so much for taking an interest in our school.

In due course the Local Authority will contact you directly. They will ask you to express a number of preferences, in a ranked order. We hope to feature highly on your shortlist, and highly recommend that you watch in full our ‘Virtual Open Day’ video, currently in preparation. (See ‘Open Days’ for full details).

Parents will still need to apply even if they have children already at the school.   No child will be considered for a place at any school unless they make an application to their Local Authority.

If you suspect that the Local Authority are unaware of your child’s existence (for example, you are new to the area) please contact us directly – we’ll help to make sure you aren’t  missed!)

Small School, Big Ambition

North Nibley is a small, friendly village school where children are known as individuals and encouraged to be bold, be strong and do everything in love.

We are proud of the warm, nurturing feel of our school, but being small certainly doesn't mean thinking small. We have high expectations for our children and want them to leave us as confident, curious and compassionate young people who are excited about learning.

Our beautiful setting gives children space to explore, play and learn outdoors, while our small classes and close-knit community mean staff get to know children and families extremely well.

What can you expect on Open Day?

Come along at any point between 9:15am and 11:15am. You'll be able to look around the school while it is busy with a normal school day, visit our Reception learning environment, meet staff and pupils, and find out what starting school at North Nibley is really like.

At 10:00am, our Headteacher will give a short talk about the school, our approach to learning and what families can expect from their child's first year with us. There will also be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

Children are very welcome to come with you.
